Dungeon Crawl

A roguelike, D&D-style dungeon crawler — choose your path, read what each enemy is about to do, loot better gear, and fight down 10 floors to the Dungeon Lord.

Last updated

Every floor is a string of rooms, and at each one you pick a door: a fight, a tougher elite with better loot, treasure, a shrine to recover at, a merchant, or a mystery. Every enemy shows what it will do next, so you decide when to hit hard, when to raise your guard, and when to drink that potion. Survive four rooms and the floor's boss to descend.

How to play Dungeon Crawl

  1. Name your character, choose a class and a normal or daily run, and click Begin Adventure.
  2. On each floor, choose a door: fights, elites, shrines, merchants or mystery rooms.
  3. Fight with d20 rolls, collect better gear, and reach the Dungeon Lord on floor 10.

How to play

Choose your path. Each floor has four rooms before its boss, and at every step you pick one of two or three doors. Fights give gold and XP; elites (💀) hit harder but always drop a choice of gear; shrines let you rest, pray for permanent max HP, or meditate for XP; merchants sell potions, bombs, gear and weapon sharpening; mystery rooms are small choose-your-own-adventure events — trapped chests, riddling statues, blood altars, a goblin who'll gamble with you. Treasure is usually treasure. Usually.

Read the intent. Combat still runs on tabletop dice — a d20 plus your attack bonus against the enemy's armour class, with natural 20s landing critical hits — but every enemy shows its next move before you act, with its damage range and its odds of hitting you. A Heavy blow or Crushing blow is the moment to Defend (block soaks damage first) or to freeze the enemy with Frost Nova; a Guard is the moment to buff up or heal. Enemies can poison, burn, weaken, expose, stun and drain you, and bosses enrage below 30% health.

Build your hero. Each class has three abilities, unlocked at levels 1, 3 and 5, paid for with a resource that refills every fight and regenerates each turn. Every level-up offers a choice of three perks — more HP, accuracy, armour, ability power, faster regeneration, better potions, thorns and more. Gear drops in four rarities (common, uncommon, rare, epic), and rare and epic pieces carry traits like lifesteal, venom or thorns; every drop shows how it compares to what you're wearing.

Daily dungeon. Pick "Daily dungeon" and the run is seeded from today's date, so everyone gets the same doors, monsters and loot — a fair way to compare scores with friends. Your run saves automatically after every action, and your best score, total runs and wins are kept on this device only.
