Definitions
Mean is the sum divided by the count. Median is the middle value when sorted (or the average of the two middle values for an even count). Mode is the most frequently occurring value. Range is the highest value minus the lowest. Standard deviation here is the population standard deviation, measuring how spread out the values are from the mean.

What is the difference between mean, median and mode?
The mean is the total divided by the count. The median is the middle value when sorted. The mode is the value that appears most often.
When should I use the median instead of the mean?
When a few extreme values would skew the mean, as with house prices or salaries, the median better shows a typical value.
How do I find the median of an even number of values?
Take the two middle values and average them. For 3, 5, 8, 10 the median is (5 + 8) ÷ 2 = 6.5.
Which standard deviation does it use?
The population standard deviation. For a sample, which divides by n − 1 instead of n, the figure is slightly larger.
