- Choose Vs Computer or Vs Human, and who goes first.
- Click a column, or press 1–7, to drop a disc into it.
- Get four of your discs in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally to win.
About this game
Click or tap anywhere in a column (or press 1–7) to drop a disc. First to line up four in a row — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — wins. "Hard" looks several moves ahead, "Medium" a couple, and "Easy" plays mostly at random. Undo (U) takes back your last move, and the computer's reply with it. The white dot marks the most recent disc. Scores are saved on this device.
Questions about Connect Four
What is the best strategy?
Take the middle column early, as it’s part of the most possible lines. Watch for your opponent’s threats and try to set up two threats at once.
Does the first player always win?
With perfect play, yes: the first player can force a win by starting in the centre column. Against people, it’s far from certain.
Can I undo a move?
Yes. Undo (or press U) takes back your last move and the computer’s reply.
How hard is the computer?
Hard looks several moves ahead, Medium a couple, and Easy plays mostly at random.
