About this game
Choose fixed text (type one passage from start to finish) or a timed test (type continuously until the clock runs out, with fresh text streamed in as you go). Easy mode uses a random shuffle of common English words with no punctuation; Hard mode uses hand-written passages full of commas, apostrophes, dashes, and quotes — the kind of punctuation that actually slows typists down. Pick a passage length for fixed mode, or a time limit for timed mode.
As you type, the graph above tracks your words-per-minute once per second so you can see whether you're speeding up, slowing down, or holding steady — not just a single number at the end. WPM is calculated from correctly-typed characters only (divided by 5, per elapsed minute), so a fast but sloppy run scores lower than a steady, accurate one.
When the test ends, a table shows exactly which characters caused the most mistakes, with an error rate for each and a heatmap coloring the worst offenders — handy for spotting a specific key you keep missing. Your best WPM is tracked separately for every combination of mode, difficulty, and length or time limit, all saved on this device.
