How to convert a PDF to JPG

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Pick JPG or PNG, the resolution, and which pages (leave the box empty for all of them).
  3. Click Convert, then click any image to download it, or Download all as ZIP.

How it works

Each page is drawn with Mozilla's PDF.js, the same engine Firefox uses to show PDFs, at the resolution you pick: 72 DPI makes an A4 page 595×842 pixels, 150 DPI 1240×1754, and 300 DPI 2480×3508, enough to print at full quality. JPG files are much smaller and suit photos and scans; PNG keeps text and lines perfectly crisp. Very large pages are capped at the size browsers can draw.

Choose pages with ranges like 1-3, 7, 10- (from page 10 to the end), or leave the box empty for all of them. Click an image to download it on its own, or download them all as a ZIP. Password-protected PDFs can't be opened. The PDF is read entirely in your browser and never leaves your device.

Questions about converting PDF to JPG

Is it really free?

Yes. There’s no account, no signup, no trial and no paid tier, and the file you download has no watermark. It has no ads either: toolcrate keeps its PDF and file tools ad-free.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is opened and processed by your own browser, on your own device, and is never sent to a server. That makes it safe for contracts, bank statements, medical letters and anything else confidential.

What resolution should I choose?

150 DPI suits screens, documents and email. Choose 300 DPI if you’ll print the images or need to zoom in; 72 DPI makes the smallest files.

Should I choose JPG or PNG?

JPG makes much smaller files and suits photos and scans. PNG keeps text and fine lines perfectly crisp, at a larger size.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

Not while it has a password. Save a copy without the password in a PDF reader first, then convert that copy.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It works in the browser on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers, with no app to install. Once you’ve used it, it keeps working without an internet connection.
