How to convert

To convert Fahrenheit to Celsius, subtract 32 and multiply by 5/9.

°C = (°F − 32) × 5/9

For example: (68 − 32) × 5/9 = 36 × 5/9 = 20 °C.

Handy reference points: water freezes at 0 °C (32 °F) and boils at 100 °C (212 °F), normal body temperature is about 37 °C (98.6 °F), and −40 is the same in both scales.

In your head: Take off 30 and halve it: 70 °F ≈ 20 °C (exactly 21.1 °C). It’s closest for everyday weather.
