How to play pinball
- Press Start, then hold Launch (or Space) and let go to fire. A short pull reaches the right rollover, a medium one the top rollover and a long one the left: hit the flashing one for a 1,000-point skill shot.
- Work the flippers by touching the left or right half of the table, with the LEFT and RIGHT buttons, or with the arrow keys (or Z and /).
- Light all three rollovers for a bigger bonus multiplier (pressing a flipper moves the lit ones along), knock down the three drop targets to light the kickback, and shoot the saucer twice to lock balls: the third time starts multiball.
About this game
A proper little table. The plunger fires the ball up the launch lane and round the top arch, and how long you pull decides where it comes off. Below the arch are three pop bumpers, a bank of three drop targets, a saucer and three rollover buttons; at the bottom, two slingshots kick the ball back into play, inlanes guide it onto the flippers, and outlanes on either side take it straight to the drain. Flipper shots behave like the real thing: a flick hits harder near the tip, and a raised flipper holds the ball still while you aim.
Scoring: bumpers 100, slingshots 50, rollovers 200, drop targets 250 (all three: 1,500 and the kickback, which fires one ball back out of the left outlane), saucer 750. The saucer locks a ball twice; the third shot starts 3-ball multiball, where every saucer shot is a 5,000 jackpot. Everything you hit also builds a bonus, paid when the ball drains and multiplied by up to 5× (one step each time you light all three rollovers). Lose a ball in the first 8 seconds after launching and it comes back. Three balls a game; your best score is saved on this device.
Questions about pinball
How do I get the skill shot?
One rollover flashes green before you launch. Tap Launch briefly for the right one, hold it about a third of a second for the top one, and over half a second for the left one.
How do I control where the ball goes?
Time your flip: hitting the ball near the tip of the flipper sends it further and harder, and catching it early sends it across to the other side.
Can I catch the ball?
Yes. Hold a flipper up as the ball comes down it and it settles in the corner; let go, and flip when you’re ready to aim.
How does multiball start?
Shoot the ball into the saucer on the right twice to lock two balls (the two green lights), then a third time. Two more balls launch, and every saucer shot while more than one is in play scores a 5,000 jackpot.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Touch the left or right half of the table for the flippers (both at once works), and touch the launch lane or the LAUNCH button to pull the plunger.
