About these sizes

Bed and mattress size names vary a lot by region and even by manufacturer, and there's no single global standard — a "Double" in the UK is a different size from a US "Full", and a US "Queen" doesn't match any single UK size exactly. This tool compares your dimensions against a reference table of the most common US and UK/EU names and ranks them by how close each one is (using the total absolute difference in width and length), rather than claiming an exact match unless one truly exists.

Pillow sizing is similarly inconsistent between brands — the reference sizes here (Standard, Queen, King, Euro Square) reflect the most commonly used US pillow dimensions. Nothing entered here is sent to a server; the comparison runs as JavaScript in your browser tab.

Questions about bed sizes

How big is a UK double bed?

135 × 190 cm (4 ft 6 in × 6 ft 3 in). A UK king is 150 × 200 cm and a super king 180 × 200 cm.

Is a UK king the same as a US king?

No. A US king is 76 × 80 inches (193 × 203 cm), much wider than a UK king, which is closer to a US queen (60 × 80 inches).

What is a US full bed in UK sizes?

A full is 54 × 75 inches (137 × 191 cm), almost the same as a UK double.

Will UK bedding fit an American bed?

Not always. Sizes with the same name differ between countries, so compare the measurements here before buying sheets or a mattress abroad.
