How to fill in a PDF form
- Choose or drop the PDF form.
- Fill in the boxes on the page, or switch to As a list to fill them in one under another (easiest on a phone).
- Click Download filled PDF. Tick Lock the answers in first if they shouldn’t be changed afterwards.
About this tool
This fills in PDFs that have a fillable form built in: text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons and drop-down lists. Your answers are written into the PDF’s own form, so they show in every PDF reader and can still be changed later, unless you lock them in, which turns them into ordinary text on the page.
On the page, each box is where the form puts it; on a phone, the list view shows every field in order with a proper label (taken from the form’s own tooltips where it has them). Both stay in step, so switch whenever you like.
The PDF is opened in your browser and never uploaded. If it has no fillable boxes, use Sign PDF to type text, dates and ticks anywhere on it.
Questions about filling PDF forms
Why does it say my PDF has no fillable boxes?
Some forms are just pictures of a form, with lines to write on, and nothing a computer can type into. You can still fill those in: Sign PDF lets you put text, dates, ticks and your signature anywhere on the page.
Can I save it and finish later?
Yes. Download it without locking the answers, then open the downloaded file here (or in any PDF reader) to carry on.
What does “Lock the answers in” do?
It flattens the form: the answers become part of the page and the boxes are removed, so nobody can change them by accident. Keep an unlocked copy if you might need to edit it.
Why didn’t a total add itself up?
Some forms run small programs in Adobe Reader to calculate totals or check answers. Those don’t run here, for safety, so type totals in yourself.
Is my form uploaded?
No. It’s filled in your browser, on your device, and never sent anywhere.
