How to search a username across sites

  1. Type the username.
  2. Click through the profile links on more than 100 sites; visited links turn grey.
  3. Click Copy all links to save the list.

How to use it

People often reuse the same username across sites, so checking where a name exists is one of the first steps in an open-source investigation, and a quick way to see whether a name you want is free. Each link goes straight to where that username's public profile would be. Visited links turn grey, so you can work through the list. Names a site wouldn't allow (wrong length or characters) are shown faded, because no profile can exist there.

A page that opens isn't proof the account belongs to the same person: common names are taken by many people, and some sites show a page even for names nobody has. Look for matching photos, bios, links and writing style before connecting accounts. Sites stop web pages from checking accounts on other sites, so this tool builds the links and you open them; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Questions about username searches

How do I find someone’s other social media accounts?

People often reuse usernames. Enter theirs here and check each link for a profile.

Does a profile with the same name mean it’s the same person?

No. Common names are used by many people. Compare photos, bios, links and writing style first.

Is my search sent anywhere?

No. The links are built in your browser; nothing is sent until you choose to open one.

Why are some sites faded?

The username breaks that site’s rules on length or characters, so no profile can exist there.
