How to compare two time zones
- Zone A starts as your own time zone; change it if you like.
- Choose Zone B, the place you want to compare.
- Optionally pick a date and time in Zone A to see the matching time in Zone B.
About this tool
Zone A defaults to your own time zone, read from your browser's Intl API (no location permission needed, and nothing about where you are leaves your device) — switch it to compare two other places just as easily. The date and time you enter are read as the time in Zone A, so you can ask “when it’s 09:00 in Tokyo, what time is it in London?” directly. Offsets are computed for the exact moment you pick, not a fixed year-round number, because many time zones observe daylight saving on their own schedule, and the gap between two zones can shift by an hour or more depending on the date. The zone list comes straight from your browser's built-in IANA time zone database, so it stays current without needing updates from us.
Nothing entered here is sent to a server — the entire calculation runs as JavaScript in your browser tab.
Questions about time zones
What time is it in another country right now?
Pick its time zone as Zone B to see the current time there and the difference from yours.
Why does the time difference change during the year?
Countries change their clocks for daylight saving on different dates, and some don’t change at all. The difference is worked out for the exact date you choose.
How do I convert a meeting time to someone else’s time zone?
Enter the meeting time in Zone A, and Zone B shows what time it will be for them, on the right date.
Does it need my location?
No. Your time zone is read from your browser’s settings, with no location permission, and nothing leaves your device.
